If you are like me, you might have many crystals that you have in your home or carry in your pockets. Crystals work wonderful for you however, they are only as good as you clean them. What does this mean? After a while, your stones take in so much energy and this energy needs to be released or cleaned. I do this process usually once a week because I use my crystals daily. Here are ways to clean your crystals.

  1. Place in the Sun or Moonlight- Putting your crystals in the Sun or Moonlight helps to release this energy. Since there is so much sun in Arizona, I leave them on my floor in my house and let the Sun shine on them for about 15- 30 mins to cleanse them. For the Moonlight, put them outside on a Full Moon and leave them out overnight.
  2. Sage- You can cleanse your crystals with Sage. This process is the same as how you would sage yourself, using the smoke to clean them.
  3. Washing/Bathing – This cleanse is bathing the crystals in salt water to cleanse them. I don’t use this process because there are some stones, anything that ends in “ite,” that the stones will disintegrate within the water. Stones such as, lepidolite, selenite, fluorite etc. will be affected by the water. Also, some stones can shrink from the salt of the cleanse. So please be careful with this process. You don’t have to cleanse them that long, 15mins would work.
  4. Cleansing with Selenite- You can get a bigger stone called selenite and place your crystals on this stone. Selenite is a clearing stone and helps to remove the energies when placed on it. I use this stone to clear my crystals under my bed overnight. I also clear my oracle cards this way as I place the deck on the stone too.

Finally, when using your crystals, make sure you are cleaning them on a regular basis. By using one or more of the techniques above, this will recharge them. By recharging them, they are then working at their fullest capacity. Once you do this, you will notice the difference when they are cleaned.
