Well, its Christmas time again! Can you believe it that is just a few days away? I cannot believe that this year has gone so fast! I haven’t even had a moment to decorate the house, buy gifts, our make the Christmas cookies! Do feel this way too? Even though this time has just creeped up on me, I was fortunate enough to go to the Polar Express with some wonderful friends from Scotland. I didn’t even know it existed, until my friends asked me to book some tickets for us to go, last week.
The Polar Express is in Williams, Arizona and it is a train ride that takes you to the North Pole. It is based off the Polar Express movie, which is fantastic if you haven’t seen it. Anyways this is a wonderful way to get you in the holiday mood. The train ride is wonderful for kids and adults alike. Both kids and parents even come dressed in their P. J’s! The staff is wonderful, and they serve you hot chocolate and a cookie. The Conductor comes by and punches your Golden Ticket several times too, just like in the movie! After this, the story of the Polar Express comes over the intercom and the staff go around, showing you the pages in book too! Finally, you end up at the North Pole and you see Santa’s village and sleigh too! As the train rides starts its way back, you sing Christmas carols with other passengers. You will even be called out if you don’t participate! (I did get called out, I didn’t participate on the 9 Ladies dancing bit!) Then, at some point, Santa comes to your car in the train and takes pictures with you and wishes you a Merry Christmas. He will also give you a Polar Express bell, just like in the movie.
My friends and I enjoyed this wonderful 90 Minute train ride. Even though we didn’t go with kids, we enjoyed ourselves, as well as, seeing the faces of the little ones that were on the train too! I was so glad to have experienced this ride this year, as it kicked off the Christmas season for me! I was also able to experience the little children’s excitement for Santa too! It reminds you to “Believe” again and the Magic of Christmas. I can’t wait to take my nephew in the next year or two, to see that excitement on his face too!
So, if you want to get in the Magic of Christmas, book a seat on the Polar Express! You won’t be disappointed! I wish you all a Merry Christmas and remember, BELIEVE!!!!
Tips
The Polar Express does book out early, I was told a year in advance! I was lucky because the day we wanted to go, they had seats on both the 5:30 and 7:30 trains that day! The 5:30 train was perfect because it was just about dark when we took off and when we got off the train we went to go and eat! This also would be a good time for the little ones too. Also, request C or D seats, as you can see the North Pole easier from those seats with little kids.
